6.1K COVID-19 survivors bring PH recovery count to 1,327,103
AN additional 6,154 patients have beaten the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), pushing the country’s overall recovery count to 1,327,103 on Monday.
The Department of Health (DOH), in its latest COVID-19 bulletin, said recoveries account for 94.6 percent of the total 1,403,588 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.
Another 5,604 new cases and 84 new deaths were also reported. These figures brought the overall tally of active cases to 52,029 and the death toll to 24,456.
The latest figures showed 90.1 percent of the active cases are mild, 5 percent are asymptomatic, 2.1 percent are severe, 1.4 percent are moderate, and 1.4 percent are in critical condition.
“There were eight duplicates removed from the total case count as six of these are recoveries. Moreover, 57 cases previously tagged as recovered have been validated to be active cases and 38 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it said.
DOH data on June 26, likewise, showed that 12.5 percent of 42,771 who were tested turned out positive for COVID-19.
All laboratories were operational on June 26 while six laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
Based on data in the last 14 days, the six non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 1.5 percent of samples tested and 2.5 percent of positive individuals.
To date, 56 percent of 3,500 intensive care unit beds, 46 percent of 19,400 isolation beds, 43 percent of 12,400 ward beds, and 36 percent of 2,800 ventilators dedicated to patients with COVID-19 are in use nationwide.
Meanwhile, 43 percent of 1,200 intensive care unit beds, 38 percent of 4,800 isolation beds, 33 percent of 3,500 ward beds, and 33 percent of 1,100 ventilators dedicated to patients with COVID-19 are being used in the National Capital Region.
The DOH urged those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms to immediately isolate and contact the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams. Philippine News Agency
