5 wanted men in Zamboanga peninsula arrested

FIVE wanted persons in Zamboanga peninsula have been arrested by the local police in separate manhunt operations this week, Police Regional Office 9 director, Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan said yesterday.

One of the suspects identified as Fahad Durie, 29, resident of Tabuk, Bgy. San Jose Gusu, Zamboanga City, was arrested past 5 p.m. Monday on the strength of a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the official said.

Ylagan said that Durie, tagged as the seventh most wanted person in Zamboanga City, was arrested in his neighborhood by local policemen led by Lieutenant Froilan Ortega. No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspect by Judge Roncesvalles Filoteo of the Zamboanga City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 32 last January 13.

The second suspect identified as Rico Algodon, 34, resident of Bgy. Manawan in Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte, was arrested in Bgy. San Roque, Zamboanga City 1:30 p.m. Monday on the basis of a warrant of arrest for robbery issued by Judge Oscar Tomarong of the Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte RTC Branch 11 on April 23, 2020.

The third, Police Senior Master Sergeant Christopher Agan, a 43-year-old member of the Pagadian City Police Office, surrendered to the local police on Wednesday after a warrant for his arrest for violation of the anti-child abuse law was issued by a local court last Tuesday.

Ylagan said that Judge Jaime Caberte of the Pagadian City RTC Branch 22 recommended an P80,000 bail for the temporary liberty of the accused who yielded to authorities in Purok Maloloy-on in Poblacion, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur.

A fourth, identified as Rodolfo Cabañero, 36, resident of Bgy. Cainglet in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay, was arrested in Dipolog City shortly before noon Wednesday by local policemen armed with a warrant of arrest for rape issued by Judge Anthony Isaw of the Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay RTC Branch 24 on April 3, 2017.

No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspect.

The fifth, identified as Junard Lumadang, a 25-year-old farmer from Sitio Limamawan in Bgy. Balukbahan in Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur, was arrested by the local police Wednesday afternoon based on a warrant of arrest for rape issued against the suspect by Jude Dennis Vicoy of the Pagadian City RTC Branch 20 on September 20 last year.

Ylagan described the suspect as the seventh most wanted person in Bayog municipality.
