AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have arrested a suspected human trafficker during an entrapment operation in Bulacan where five “trafficked” women, including two minors, were rescued.

The NBI-Anti-Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTRAD) said the suspect, with the alias “Lyka Chua,” was arrested in Guiguinto town.

The suspect was brought for inquest for violations of Republic Act (RA) No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children Law), RA 9208 as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012), and RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).

The operation stemmed from information received by NBI-AHTRAD regarding a Facebook account user, “Lyka Chua,” allegedly offering women, including children, to online patrons.

The operation, in coordination with the local police, Guiguinto Bulacan Municipal Social Welfare Department, and Department of Justice-Inter Agency Council Against Trafficking (DOJ-IACAT), resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the rescue of five women, two of whom are minors based on dental aging conducted on them.
