5 probinsya may red tide
MULING nakitaan ng mataas na lebel ng Paralytic Shellfish Poison (PSP) o toxic red tide ang katubigan ng limang probinsya ng bansa.
Ayon sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) positibo sa red tide toxin ang coastal waters ng Altavas, Batan, at New Washington sa Batan Bay, Aklan; Sapian Bay (Ivisan at Sapian sa Capiz; Mambuquiao at Camanci, Batan sa Aklan); coastal waters ng Panay; Pilar; President Roxas; Roxas City sa Capiz; coastal waters ng Gigantes Islands, Carles sa Iloilo; coastal waters ng Dauis at Tagbilaran City sa Bohol; at Dumanquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur.
“All types of shellfish and Acetes sp. or alamang gathered from the area shown above are NOT SAFE for human consumption. Fish, squids, and crabs are SAFE for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking,” sabi ng inilabas na pahayag ng BFAR.
