5 nabbed for human trafficking in Biñan

KAMPO HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL – Laguna police have arrested five suspects allegedly involved in human trafficking on Thursday morning in Biñan City, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Director Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Police Colonel Randy Glenn G. Silvio said the suspects were all working in a night bar.

Biñan City Police, together with the local social welfare and development, raided the night bar, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects and rescued eight females.

The arrested suspects were turned over to WCPD (Women and Children Protection Center) Section for proper disposition and brought to the Ospital of Biñan for physical examination.

Police will be filing charges of violation of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 or human trafficking.

Meanwhile, a corresponding case will also be filed against the owner of the night bar.
