AUTHORITIES arrested five drug personalities, including a woman, and seized more than P.2 million worth of shabu in separate buy-bust operations Monday in Makati City.

In his report to Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg, Makati police chief P/Col. Harold Depositar said joint elements of Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Intelligence Section arrested Joey Prestado, 52 and his cousin Ronnie Prestado, 36, in buy-bust at around 7:45 p.m. at 8B Upper Plaza, Brgy. West Rembo.

Police recovered from the suspects 11 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P74,800 and the P500 marked money used in the drug sting.

At around 2:35 p.m., DEU operatives arrested Jose Bucoy III, 40 , Edgar Villaester, 43, and Angel Chihara, 35 at 4691 Arellano St., Brgy. Palanan after conspiring to sell P9,000.00 worth of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

When frisked, lawmen seized from them 20.7 grams of shabu worth P140,760.00 placed in a metal case and the marked money consisting of genuine P1,000 bill and eight pieces of boodle money.

Col. Depositar said the arrested suspects were included in the watch list of Makati police and suspected to be involved in rampant selling of illegal drugs in Barangay Palanan.

“Binabati ko ang Makati CPS sa inyong matagumpay na operasyon kontra illegal na droga, gusto ko ding batiin ang ating mga kababayan sa inyong pagbibigay ng impormasyon sa inyong kapulisan upang mahuli ang ganitong gawain ng ilan sa ating mga kababayan, tunay na ang pagkakahuli sa mga taong ito ay tagumpay hindi lang ng kapulisan kundi maging ng mamayang Pilipino dahil nabawasan ang mga taong nasa likod ng bentahan ng illegal na droga sa ating bayan,” BGen. Macaraeg said.
