AROUND 45 individuals were apprehended for quarantine violations after they reportedly conducted a birthday party at an events place in Pasig City.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said the Royana Events Place in Bgy. Kalawaan was already shut down by the Pasig Business Permits Licensing Office.

According to Sotto, concerned residents near the area reported the loud birthday party.

Pasig Police chief Lt Col. Roman Arugay said policemen were conducting the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation, an anti-criminality campaign in the city, when approached by a citizen informing them of the ongoing party.

“Salamat sa ating kapulisan at pati sa concerned citizen na nag-report,” the mayor said.

Irked by the incident, Sotto called the violators “hard-headed” in his Twitter post.

Meanwhile, the owner of Royana Events Place told policemen that they pushed through with the party as it was booked in June when small gatherings were still allowed.

The 45 violators, per the Pasig Police, were given violation tickets that they need to settle.

The local government of Pasig required the apprehended individuals to undergo a swab test.

“Appropriate charges will be filed against the involved personalities while a cease and desist order was issued by the City Government of Pasig to the establishment,” the Pasig Police said in a statement.

Colonel Roman Arugay, Pasig Police chief, warned the public that they will continue to apprehend quarantine violators.
