4 suspects in robbery of Indian nat’ls nabbed

QUEZON City policemen arrested four suspects in the robbery of Indian national and who yielded several firearms during a follow-up operation in Quezon City.

PLTCol. Roldante Sarmiento, PS 13 commander, identified the arrested suspects as Jayruss Calzado, 31, resident of Caloocan City; Ninoy Aquino, 39, Carlo Candelaria, 36, and Loreto Candelaria, 56, all residents of Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City.

Report shows that at about 12:30 p.m. of September 23, 2022, while victims Beant Singh Sran and Gurpyar Singh were collecting payment for debts in San Miguel St., Brgy. Payatas, the suspects on board tmotorcycles appeared and at gunpoint declared the heist.

The suspects allegedly took all the collected money of the victims amounting to P18,000 then fled.

The victims reported the incident to PS 13 operatives who immediately conducted a follow-up operation which resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspects at about 4 p.m. along San Pedro St., Brgy. Payatas.

A report further revealed that a certain Julius Caesar Garci appeared and pinpointed the suspects as the same persons who stole from his meat shop last September 22, 2022.

A certain Harwinder Singh and Bhupinder Singh Dhalinal also appeared at PS 13 and pointed to the suspects as the same persons who robbed them last September 22, 2022 om Bicol St., Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City.

Recovered from the suspects were an improvised firearm, four replica firearms, two wallets, four cellular phones, four helmets, ID under the name of Bhupinder Singh Dhaliwal, and a blue Honda TMX.

The suspects will be charged with robbery, theft and violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

“Binabati ko ang kapulisan ng Kyusi dahil sa kanilang maagap na aksyon dahilan para maaresto itong mga suspek. Mabuti na lamang at nasakote ng ating kapulisan itong mga taong ito upang hindi na muling makapangbiktima pa ng iba,” saad ni Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

PBGEN Torre III commended the PS 13 men for their swift response which resulted in the arrest of the suspects. “Nagpapasalamat din ako sa mga biktima na hindi nag-atubiling magsumbong sa ating kapulisan. Dahil dito kaagad nating naaresto ang mga nasabing suspek. Sisiguraduhin namin na makukulong at papanagutin namin sila sa kanilang ginawa,” dagdag pa niya.

Meanwhile, Acting NCRPO Director, PBGEN Jonnel C. Estomo lauded QCPD personnel for fulfilling their duties and responsibilities in making Quezon City a safer place to do business. He also thanked the public for their cooperation and for trusting the PNP.

“The mere reporting of incidents to the authorities is already a big help to us in fighting all forms of criminality in the community,” he added.
