FOUR of Metro Manila’s most wanted persons were captured by agents of the National Capital Region Field Unit (NCRFU) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Tuesday and Wednesday, a report to PNP chief, General Dionardo B. Carlos said yesterday.

CIDG-NCRFU chief, Colonel Randy Glenn F. Silvio said that two of the suspects identified as Robert Rosales, 26, and Mark Braganza, 25, both residents of 120-B, 8th Avenue, Bgy. 56 in Caloocan City, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at nearby No. 55 Baltazar St. in 8th Avenue on Wednesday morning.

Initially recovered from the possession of the suspects was a caliber .38 revolver they sold to an undercover officer for P5,000. When searched, one of the suspects’ backpack was found to contain two blocks of dried marijuana bricks worth P240,000.

Silvio said the duo was identified to be members of a newly-identified crime group involved in illegal drugs and firearms trafficking in the northern part of Metro Manila.

The two will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs and illegal firearm.

The 3rd identified as Jimmy Lazara, 48, a construction worker wanted for murder and tagged as the 18th most wanted man in the metropolis, was arrested in front of the Iglesia ni Cristo Lokal ng Bulak in Sta. Maria, Bulacan 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, said the official.

Silvio said that members of the CIDG-NCRFU, backed up by officers from the NCR Police Office Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), tracked down the suspect following weeks of surveillance.

A resident of Damba, Bagbaguin in Bgy. 165, North Caloocan City, the suspect is the subject of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Ronald Torrijos of the Caloocan City Regional Trial Court Branch 128 last May 26.

The 4th identified as 46 years old Gary Flores alias ‘Ka Payat,’ also a construction worker from Bgy. 73, Hero’s Apostol, 10th Avenue, Caloocan City, was arrested on the basis of a warrant of arrest for two counts of rape issued by Judge Barbara Aleli Briones of the Caloocan City Family Court Branch 1.

Silvio said that an “intelligence packet” provided by the Regional Intelligence Unit-NCR triggered the operation which led in the arrest of the suspect by members of the CIDG-NCRFU Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit, the NCRPO-RMFB, San Mateo Municipal Police Station and the Quezon City Police District.

“The arrests were made in line with our stepped-up implementation of our Oplan: Pagtugis, our main effort to account for most wanted persons in Metro Manila as ordered by Gen. Carlos and CIDG director, Major Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro,” said the CIDG-NCRFU chief.
