
4 nabbed, P.4M ‘shabu’ seized in QC buy-busts
OPERATIVES arrested four drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Quezon City and seized more than P408,000 worth of suspected shabu.
In its first operation, PLTCOL Richard Ian Ang, PS 11 commander, identified the suspects as Mary Grace Pantinople, 37, and Mervin Gelotin, 49, both residents of Brgy. Silangan, Quezon City.
They were arrested at 8:10 a.m. along Peoples Park Quezon Ave., Brgy., Tatalon, Quezon City.
A buy-bust operation was conducted by the PS 11 operatives after a concerned citizen tipped off the illegal drug activity of the suspects. A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and bought P4,000 worth of shabu from Pantinople. At the given pre-arranged signal, the latter was arrested together with her cohort.
The said operatives confiscated 30 grams of shabu valued at P204,000, two coin purses and the buy-bust money from the suspects.
PLTCOL Roldante Sarmiento, PS 13 commander, identified the suspects as Richard Nataba Perol, 32, and Michael Commendador Durana, 43, both residents of Brgy. Bagong Silangan, Quezon City. They were arrested inside an unnumbered house at Phase 1 Village, Brgy. Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, at 6:20 p.m.
Confiscated were 30 grams of shabu worth P204,000, a black coin purse, and the buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects are currently under police custody and will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
QCPD Director PBGEN Nicolas D Torre III commended the operatives for their relentless efforts in its anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the said pieces of evidence.
