Eastern Police District-District Drug Enforcement Unit (EPD-DDEU) seized nearly P500,000 worth of illegal drugs from four suspected drug pushers, including a teenager, following a string of buy-bust operations in the cities of Pasig and Mandaluyong.

P/Major Darwin Guerrero, DDEU chief, said the series of operations were based on the directive of Eastern Police District (EPD) director P/Brigadier Gen. Wilson Asueta to intensify the anti-illegal drug campaign in the eastern part of Metro Manila.

On Tuesday, a 24-year-old suspect and a 16-year-old boy, both residents of Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, were nabbed at San Buenaventura Street, Bgy. Bagong Ilog, in the said city.

Guerrero said at around 2 a.m. on Feb. 7, teams of DDEU conducted a buy-bust based on information that the duo is suspected of peddling drugs in the city.

An undercover agent transacted with the suspects and agreed to meet at the area.

The police buyer bought shabu from the suspects, and after they received the marked money, they were immediately nabbed by policemen.

Recovered were at least six plastic sachets of shabu weighing 33.3 grams valued at P226,440.

On Monday, DDEU seized more than P72,000 worth of shabu from another drug suspect who was arrested at Bgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City, at around 9:27 p.m.
