TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – Four motorcycle-riding men who were tagged in last week’s shooting and slaying of a 44-year-old businesswoman were arrested a day after the killing, police said.

The slain victim, whose identity was still withheld by authorities, was shot dead in Bgy. Bagong Silang at 5:15 a.m. last Friday.

The police have also withheld the names of the 4 nabbed suspects so as not to jeopardize subsequent follow-up operations now being conducted for the arrest of their other cohorts, it was learned.

Before the shooting, town police commander Lt. Col. Jackyll I. Bilibli said the suspects tailed the victim and upon reaching the said area, one of the back-riders suddenly shot the woman hitting the head, resulting in the victim’s instantaneous death.

This early, provincial police head Col. Jess B. Mendez, however, already lauded Bilibli and his men for swiftly resolving the murder case.

He said: “I am impressed with the speedy result of this murder incident. While there are unfortunate cases such as this, the vast majority of our PNP (Philippine National Police) personnel perform effectively and efficiently their sworn duties everyday to protect and serve the people.”
