4 holdup gang members fall

FOUR suspected members of a robbery hold-up group who allegedly hogtied and robbed a Chinese national were arrested in a series of follow-up operations in separate areas in Metro Manila and nearby province on Sunday.

Southern police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said the arrest of the suspects identified as Eymard Durwin, 36, of Brgy. Katuparan, Taguig City, Rexan Danatil, 36 of Brgy. Patag, Sta. Maria, Bulacan, Francisco Verona, 33 years of Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City, and Ryan Raul Ramirez, 35 of Brgy. Mahabang Parang, Angono, Rizal was the result of follow-up operations conducted by joint elements of Paranaque police, led by P/Col. Maximo Sebastian, Jr. Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) and Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), in coordination with Sta. Maria Municipal Police and Bulacan 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).

Earlier on Saturday, July 10, 2021, the suspects barged into the house of Chen Zhihang, 27, on 62 Timothy St., Multinational Village, Brgy. Moonwalk, Paranaque, at around 3 a.m. by destroying the padlock of the main gate.

The suspects went to the second floor of the house and at gunpoint, tied the victim’shand and feet with plastic straw and gagged his mouth with packaging tape.

The robbers allegedly carted away the victim’s belongings worth P945,000 and two safety vaults containing cash amounting to more or less P3 million.

A follow-up operation was immediately conducted by Paranaque police resulting in the arrest of Durwin, the recovery of cash worth P165,000 and his Taurus .9mm caliber pistol with magazines loaded with 25 live bullets.

On July 11, Sunday at about 5:30 a.m., Danatil was arrested in Bgy. Patag, Sta Maria, Bulacan. Recovered from him was P236,000 while Verona was arrested at around 7:15 a.m. along Taurus St. Pangarap Village, Brgy 181, Caloocan City.

Police recovered from Verona two safety vaults, cash worth P270,000.00, a passport and cellular phone.

Ramirez was arrested at around 10 a.m. on the same day at Grand Valley Subdivision, Bgy Mahabang Parang, Angono, Riza.

Recovered from him cash amounting to P200,000, a caliber .38 revolver, a Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Starex van.
