PALAYAN CITY — The city police raided on Thursday night two resorts here and arrested its owners and caretakers for allegedly violating the minimum health and safety protocols on social gatherings against COVID-19.

City police chief Lt. Col. Santos D. Mera Jr. identified the two erring resorts as Damian’s Farm and Pool and Gwen and Tam Resort, located both in Bgy. Sapang Buho.

Nabbed were Rosella Nipales, 56, of Damian’s Farm and Pool and Sharon Rugayan, 33, of Gwen and Tam Resort, and caretakers Emily Ferreol, 40, and Sherilyn Rugayan, all of said barangay.

Mera said his men conducted the raid at 7:15 p.m. following a tip from a concerned citizen that several people were gathered in the resort in violation of the health and safety protocols on social gatherings.

Upon verification, Mera said they also learned that these establishments have no building permit and license to operate from the city government.

The city police chief said the four suspects were taken into custody and will be slapped with violations of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Concern Act, and Presidential Decree 1096 or the National Building Code of the Philippines.
