4 Cavite towns now COVID-19 free

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Four towns in 7 cities and 16 municipalities in Cavite province are now “COVID-19 free” based on the last report released by the Cavite Provincial Information Office on March 10, 2022.

The towns of Bailen, Magallanes, Noveleta, and Ternate became COVID-19 free after the virus (active) cases went down since the Omicron variant surge hit the country in January 2022.

While the cities of Bacoor (27 active cases), Imus (27 cases), Kawit (23 cases), GenTri (14 cases), Trece Martires (11 cases), and GMA (11 cases) – still have 2-digit COVID-19 cases respectively.

Cases dropped to 184 active cases in the entire province of Cavite which recorded 15,538 active cases last January 23, 2022, during the Omicron variant surge in the region and the reason to place the province at the lowest Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, 2022.

Mayor Dino Chua of Noveleta praised the locality’s COVID-free status: “Zero Covid na po tayo sa buong bayan ng Noveleta, ipinagmamalaki po natin na nanalo na naman tayo sa laban ng pandemiya, Walang imposible sa ‘Bayan ng mga Bayani’, Salamat ng marami sa ating mga frontliners.”
