PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief General Dionardo B. Carlos yesterday said he has ordered the restriction to quarters of four members of the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office accused of involvement in a P2.7 million robbery case in Davao Oriental.

The top cop said he has instructed Police Regional Office 13 Director Brigadier Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. to ensure that the four policemen are under restrictive custody so that they will be readily available for further investigation for their alleged role in the robbery case.

Gen. Carlos said that the four identified as Senior Master Sergeant Ronald Laro, Staff Sgts. Dariel John Mozo and Richard Ayala and Patrolman Ivan Klein Osorio are now undergoing investigation by the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Internal Affairs Service.

“Their restriction will also preclude any undue influence in the ongoing investigation and possible intimidation of witnesses and complainants,” the PNP chief said.

The four policemen surrendered to the PRO13 regional headquarters last Monday after they were implicated in a robbery incident in Purok 6-B, Poblacion, Banay-Banay, Davao Oriental around 2 p.m. last January 14.

The victim identified as businessman Jasper Pabilic said that he lost P2.7 million in cash and exotic Agar wood to the suspects.
