GENERAL TINIO, Nueva Ecija – Three persons, including two minors, were apprehended shortly after allegedly stealing an imported male Boer goat worth over P130,000 from a government stock farm here on Wednesday.

Town police head Captain Ronan James Eblahan said the two minor suspects were collared by Bantay Bayan members at 2:00 a.m. while riding a black Honda TMX motorcycle with an attached improvised sidecar or “kolong-kolong” carrying the stolen goat, which is being used for breeding purposes at a stock farm in Sitio Masikat, Bgy. Nazareth here.

The third suspect, a 20-year-old from Bgy. Pias, who is tagged as the alleged “mastermind”, was subsequently nabbed during follow-up operations conducted in Bgy. Rio Chico.

Eblahan identified the victim as Dr. Aura Lumabas, 35, of Bgy. Poblacion, San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, OIC (Officer-in-Charge) of National Beef Cattle Research and Development Center, the satellite office of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) here.

He described the stolen animal as a pure-bred Boer buck worth about P130,900.

The two minor suspects were turned over to the local DSWD authorities, while the third suspect was placed behind bars for proper disposition.
