3 workers electrocuted while working on street lights
THREE workers were reportedly electrocuted while installing street lights Saturday in Purok 5, Bgy. Sampaguita, Lipa City, Batangas, the other day.
Lipa City Police Station case officers PSMS Arnold D. Delfin, P/SSg Glenn Allan A. Maandal and P/Cpl Alberto D. Bombales said the victims were identified as Albert Lolong, 555, married; Roxel Hernandez, 23, with live-in partner, and Joie Tolentino, 53, married, all construction workers and residents of Bgy. Anilao, Lipa City.
Investigation showed the victims were seen working on the ongoing installation of the barangay street lights along the sidewalk of the said village at about 9 a.m.
The victims were guiding an Isuzu boom truck (CCN 3932) driven by Joseh Orena which was lifting a box culvert that was to be placed on the drainage canal when the metal boom hit live wire.
The victims who were holding the box culvert got electrocuted and fell to the ground unconscious.
They were rushed to the Divine Love Medical Hospital for treatment.
