POLICE Regional Office 5 director Brig. Gen. Westrimundo D. Obinque yesterday announced the arrest of three top drug personalities in Bicol region and the confiscation of around 1.1 kilogram of shabu worth P7.5 million in a buy-bust operation in Camarines Sur.

The Bicol police director identified the arrested suspects as Dexter Brazal, a 49-yea-old resident of Zone 1, Sto. Thomas, Magarao, Camarines Sur; Francisco Noel Obias III, 52, of Zone 2, RJ Village in Bgy. Haring, Canaman municipality, and Raymond Madera, 42, a resident of Dons Street in Naga City.

Obinque said that the trio were arrested by undercover officers from the PRO5 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit during a sting at 105 Flamingo Street in RJ Village around 7:04 p.m. last Saturday.

He said that initially recovered from the suspects were one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing 25 grams of the “poor man’s cocaine” which they sold to a poseur and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P500 bill.

A thorough search of the suspects likewise led to the recovery of 21 plastic sachets containing 1,100 grams of shabu, with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P7,480,000, and a plastic packet containing some P600 worth of dried marijuana leaves.

All three suspects who are now being held at the Canaman Municipal Police Station lock-up facility will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002., said the PRO5 director.
