3 suspects arrested in Laguna drug sting

Combined operatives of the Calamba police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nabbed two pushers who were listed as high value individual and another listed as street level individual, and confiscated P353,600 worth of illegal drugs Friday afternoon during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Bgy. Real, Calamba City, Laguna.

Calamba City police chief P/Lt. Col. Arnel Pagulayan identified the suspects as John Michael Espiritu, 20; Raymund Balicao, 36; and street level individual Mark Joseph Garcia, 22, all residents of Bgy. Real, Calamba City.

They were charged for violating sections 5 and 11 in relation to section 26 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The joint operation was led by P/Capt. Marjon Fernandez and PDEA Laguna under the supervision of Pagulayan at about 4:50 p.m. in Bgy. Real.

The arrested suspects were caught in the act of conspiring with each other in selling one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic of shabu.

During the preventive search, police have recovered from one of the suspects’ possession 14 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic containing suspected shabu placed in a coin purse with a total weight of 52 grams, estimated to value P353,600. Also recovered from the two suspects were the P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, P500 bill and five pieces P100 bills.

Recovered from another suspect is one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic containing suspected shabu.
