FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The intensive conduct of focused military operations by the 7th (ID) Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division led by Major Gen. Andrew D. Costelo led to the voluntary surrender of three New People’s Army rebels in Aurora province on Wednesday, the military reported.

The 7th ID Chief said his men from the 91st Infantry (SINAGTALA) Battalion along with their counterparts facilitated the surrender of these three rebels identified as alias Mario, alias Dondon, and alias Albert/Romeo, who are residents of Casiguran and Disalag towns in Aurora.

The trio also gave up a cal. 45 pistol, three magazines for M14 (unserviceable); 30 rounds of ammunition for M14; one ICOM base radio; and DENR leaflets (Gabay sa Pagpapatupad Ng Batas Pangkalikasan).

After surrendering, they were brought to the Bravo Company Headquarters of the 91IB in Bgy. Dibaraybay, Dinalungan for proper documentation and disposition.

Major Gen. Costelo attributed this latest surrender to the intensified efforts of the Provincial Task Force-to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict in Aurora in pursuing its peace and development initiatives in collaboration with the Army and the Philippine National Police which were proven effective, citing the series of surrenders by the rebels in the past few weeks.
