3 NPA rebels surrender in NE

SAN JOSE CITY — A special intelligence operation led by the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company resulted in the surrender last Wednesday of three former ranking members of the New People’s Army.

In a report to Nueva Ecija acting police director Col. Rhoderick Campo, 2nd PMFC commander Lt. Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo identified the three rebel surrenderers as “Ka Mandy/Ka Kaloy,” 49, of Bgy. Bantug, Carranglan; “Ka Marlon,” 44, of Bgy. San Isidro, Lupao; and “Ka Romy,” 48, of Bgy. Kita-Kita, this city.

“Ka Mandy,” a platoon supply officer under the NPA’s Josefino Corpuz Command from 2000 to 2005 turned over a Colt 45 pistol with two bullets.

“Ka Marlon” was tagged as a member of the Pulang Mandirigma under the same command from 1990 to 1994 while “Ka Romy” got affiliated with them from 1990 to 1992.

During their surrender to the 2nd PMFC in this city, the three ex-rebels also pledged their support to the government.

Dasugo said successful undertaking was an offshoot of intelligence-gathering operations jointly conducted by the 2nd PMFC. with the San Jose police, Talavera, Guimba, Lupao, and Carranglan municipal stations, PIU-NEPPO, RIU3, RID-PRO3, 303rd MC-RMFB3 and the Army’s 84th IB-7ID.
