3 Koreans, 17 others nabbed in QC gambling den raid

THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has arrested three Koreans and 17 Filipinos inside a house operating like a mini casino.

A report from the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) said the 20 suspects were arrested at about 12:30 a.m. on September 18, 2021 on 11 Binmaka St., Brgy. Manresa, Quezon City.

Investigation showed the DSOU received information that a private residence is being used as an illegal gambling den ib Manresa, Quezon City. The gambling den operates like a mini casino.

Acting on the said report, DSOU operatives discreetly positioned themselves in the area and a covert policeman who posed as one of the customers observed a group of persons playing poker game.

At that juncture, DSOU elements swooped down in the area and arrested the suspects. Confiscated from their possession were gambling paraphernalias, poker chips, playing cards and poker tables and P1,500.

Cases for violation of P.D. 1602 (Poker Game) will be filed against the arrested suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
