3 held for playing “tong-its” in Ecija
ZARAGOSA, Nueva Ecija — Three persons playing the illegal cards game “tong-its” along with a most wanted felon facing theft charges were nabbed in separate anti-crime operations launched here on Monday.
Police head Major Jaime Ferrer said his anti-illegal gambling operatives nabbed the three suspects in Bgy. Concepcion East at 3:30 p.m.
Arrested were Reynaldo Cunanan, 68, Mansuera Tolenton, 68 and Margie Aquino, 50, all of Bgy Concepcion East.
Seized from the suspects were playing cards and some P461 in bet money.
In the other operation, arrested was theft suspect Melvin Fernando, 33, of Purok 3, Bgy. Caballero, Palayan city.
Fernando has a pending arrest warrant for theft issued by Judge Jane T. Yap-Evangelista, of the MCTC Victoria-La Paz, Tarlac dated Feb.6, 2017.
