2,522 promoted Metro Manila cops take oath

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director, Major General Vicente D. Danao Jr. on Thursday led the mass oathtaking of 2,522 newly-promoted Metro Manila policemen whom he reminded anew to be true to their vow “to serve and protect.”

Of the 2,522 who took their oath of office during simple ceremonies at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City, 221 are Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) with the rank of Major to Lieutenant while 2,301 are Non-Commissioned Police Officers (PNCO) with the rank of Corporal up to Sergeant.

Danao said the newly-promoted police officers and men successfully passed the rigid screening and deliberation of NCRPO uniformed personnel for the 2nd Level Regular Promotion Program for Calendar Year 2021.

Those promoted include 498 (37 PCOs and 461 PNCOs) assigned at the NCRPO headquarters; 342 from the Northern Police District with 38 PCOs and 304 PNCOs; 268 from the Eastern Police District with 23 PCOs and 245 PNCOs; 496 from the Manila Police District with 42 PCOs and 454 PNCOs; 494 from the Southern Police District with 40 PCOs and 454 PNCOs; and 424 from the Quezon City Police District with 41 PCOs and 383 PNCOs.

Danao reminded the newly-promoted personnel to always remember that every promotion connotes greater responsibility and should inspire and motivate them to better serve the people.

The Metro Manila police chief likewise advised and directed them especially the PCOs to focus on their job and closely supervise every personnel.

“Hangga’t suot natin ang unipormeng ito, gawin natin ng tama ang ating mga trabaho hanggang sa huling sandali ng pagseserbisyo sa ating mga kababayan. Ito ang kinakailangan nating gawin upang lubos nating mapaglingkuran at maprotektahan ang ating mga kababayan,” the official said.

Members of the National Police Commission Promotion Board, lawyers Rey F. Delgad and Cynthia Soledad and Potenciano Daniega; NCRPO Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Brigadier Gen. Jon A. Arnaldo; Deputy Regional Director for Operations, Brig. Gen. Celso L. Bael; and other members of the NCRPO Regional Directorial Staff also graced the occasion.
