2,500 jobs offered in Kalinga sa Maynila Job Fair
SOME 2,500 jobs were offered to job seekers during the “Kalinga sa Maynila PESO Job Fair” held on Wednesday morning in Paco, Manila.
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said the job fair, which provided employment opportunities through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)-Manila, in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region Manila Field Office, was open to high school graduates, college level, college and technical-vocational graduates.
PESO Director Fernan Bermejo said among the positions offered were human resources staff, promo merchandising supervisor, driver/helper, accounting staff, data analyst, data encoder, merchandiser, sales associate, production worker/helper, administrative staff, quality control staff, accounting staff, and office staff.
Many of the applicants who were hired on the spot expressed their gratitude to Mayor Lacuna for giving them an employment opportunity.
Aside from job fair, the event started at 8 a.m. until noon and was held at the corner of Paz and Perdion Streets in Paco, District V, also offered free basic services such as medical consultation, basic medicines, deworming, rabies vaccination, civil registry, tricycle and parking registration, person with disabilities/solo parent/senior citizen ID application, clearing/flushing operations, water/electricity application, building permit inquiries, notary services, and others to residents of Barangays 679, 680, 681 and 684.
