CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Twenty members of a farm group pledged their allegiance to the government, while two former rebels returned to the folds of law in Nueva Ecija and Pampanga.

The intensified intelligence-driven operations of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 3 led by acting commander Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal resulted in the withdrawal of support of 20 members of Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) from the CPP-NPA (Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army) at the 303rd MC headquarters, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, “Ka Rambo,” a former member of Kilusang Larangan Guerilla (KLG West), surrendered to the 1st Pampanga PMFC on Wednesday in Bgy. Hacienda Dolores, Porac, Pampanga.

“Ka Rambo” also turned in a cal. .45 pistol, seven live bullets, and one M49A2 60mm mortar.

Joint elements of the 1st PMFC Nueva Ecija and other police units also facilitated the voluntary surrender of “Lusing,” a former member of Milisyang Bayan, on Burgos Ave., Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija and yielded a .38 revolver and two live bullets.

PRO (Police Regional Office) 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. commended the troops saying their surrender and withdrawal of support are testaments to the PNP’s (Philippine National Police) efforts to provide avenues for active and former rebels to return to the folds of the law and for their supporters to come back to the government side in a peaceful manner.
