20 Bulacan mayors solid behind BBM, Sara
PRESIDENTIAL frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. and his running-mate Inday Sara Duterte have secured the endorsement of twenty mayors from Bulacan, the fifth vote-rich province in the May 9, 2022 elections.
Members of the Mayor’s League Bulacan Chapter formally issued a Manifesto of Support to push for the candidacy of the UniTeam bets.
“We, the municipal mayors comprising the Mayor’s League Bulacan Chapter, express our full support to the Presidential and Vice Presidential bid of Uniteam candidates Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Mayor Inday Sara Duterte this coming 2022 National Elections,” a portion of the manifesto read.
Among those who personally signed the manifesto were mayors; Eladio E. Gonzales of Balagtas, Ferdinand V. Estrella of Baliuag, Jose Santiago Jr. of Bocaue, Vergel Meneses of Bulakan, Francis Albert Juan of Bustos, Ambrosio C. Cruz, Jr. of Guiguinto, Ricardo Silvestre of Marilao, Mary Ann P. Marcos of Paombong, and Roderick Tiongson of San Miguel.
Completing the roster of signatories are; Cipriano D. Violago, Jr. of San Rafael, Leonardo De Leon of Angat, Jessie P. De Jesus of Calumpit, Raulito Manlapaz of Hagonoy, Edwin C. Santos of Obando, Anastacia Vistan of Plaridel, Russel G. Pleyto of Sta. Maria, Linabelle Villarica of Meycauayan City, and Arthur Robes of San Juan del Monte City.
Meanwhile, representatives of Pandi Mayor Chis Castro and Malolos City Mayor Christian Natividad signed the manifesto on their behalf.
“We collectively believe that Mr. Bongbong Marcos and Mayor Sara Duterte is the tandem our country needs to unite our people and to bounce back as a nation. As local elected officials who are mandated to look after the welfare of our people, we have faith that the UnitTeam will deliver the much-needed support to our localities,” read another portion of the manifesto.
In a previous statement, incumbent Bulacan Vice-Governor Wilhelmino Sy Alvarado expressed confidence that Marcos would win again in the province, which based on Comelec record is home to 2,007,523 registered voters.
The UniTeam presidential bet is poised to repeat his win against Leni Robredo during the 2016 vice-presidential race, where he garnered 42.50 percent or about 556,480 votes against Robredo’s 190,401 votes.
