TWO notorious drug traffickers in Zamboanga City were arrested in separate buy-bust operations on Friday, Police Regional Office 9 director, Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan told the Journal Group.
One of the suspects identified as Omar Barli alias ‘Mar,’ a 26-year old jobless resident of Lower Calarian was arrested during a sting in Barangay Ayala around 6:30 a.m. Friday.
Ylagan said that the suspect yielded nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some P10,000 worth of shabu and two marked P100 bills paid to him by an undercover officer.
The 2nd identified as Wahid Jailani,22, a resident of Sibugtul, Bgy. Arena Blanco yielded 11 plastic packets containing some P9,000 worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and the boodle money topped by two marked P100 bills during a buy-bust operation in his neighborhood past 10 p.m. of the same day.
Ylagan said that the two are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
