AUTHORITIES seized at least P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs following the arrest of two women who are high-value individuals in a drug sting operation Tuesday evening in Muntinlupa city.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said Roxane Alcaide, 28 and Joana Leoncio, 18, both residents of Bgy. San Vicente, San Pedro, Laguna were arrested by joint elements of District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), District Investigation Division (DID), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU.NCR)) and Muntinlupa police station inside the famous fast food chain at Star Mall, Alabang at around 8 p.m.

Prior to the police operation, elements of RIU and DDEU received a tip from their regular informant regarding illegal drug trade of the suspects, not only in Laguna province but also in southern area of Metro Manila, particular in Muntinlupa city.

After more than a week of surveillance and monitoring operation, joint elements of DDEU led by P/Maj. Cecilio Tomas, DID chief P/Lt. Vladimir Belza and P/Lt. Edgardo Sicay of RIU-NCR conducted buy-bust operation inside Jollibee fast food restaurant that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

Authorities seized from the suspects at least 200 grams of shabu with standard drug price worth P1.3 million, two mobile phones and buy-bust money.

“I hope this would be another lesson to everyone not to get involved in illegal drugs activities because the PNP is unrelenting in pursuing any person or group involved in illegal drugs” P/BGEN Macaraeg said as he commended his men on their accomplishment.
