2 unknown MC-riding men killed in Rizal encounter

CAMP BGEN VICENTE LIM, Canlubang, Laguna – Two unidentified motorcycle-riding men were killed in a police encounter after a chase in M. L. Quezon Avenue Extension, Bgy. Mahabang Parang, Angono, Rizal, on Wednesday.

A report reached to Regional Director of PRO Calabarzon (Police Regional Office -Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) PBGen. Antonio C. Yarra by Angono Municipal Police Station personnel said they were conducting Oplan Sita around 2:45 a.m. April 6, in M. L. Quezon Avenue Extension, Bgy. Mahabang Parang, when they tried to slow down the motorcycle with two unidentified men on board for not wearing helmets and said both were armed with an unknown caliber of short firearms.

But instead of stopping, the two sped off headed to Binangonan, Rizal direction.

In a period of chasing, that reached Madrigal Road, in Bgy. Pantok, Binangonan town, the said motorcycle slid down to the concrete road, and the two suspects landed awkwardly.

Police carefully alighted out from the police car to approach the two suspects, when unexpectedly they opened fire upon them, hitting the right portion of the mobile vehicle, and a bullet hit PCpl. Buelo but fortunately avoided being injured as he was wearing a bulletproof vest.

At that juncture, police officers retaliated that resulting in the death of the two.

Rizal Provincial Crime Lab personnel processed and verified the motorcycle used by the duo that it was the motorcycle with the same red color and white, earlier reported by its owner Julian Khyle De Leon missing on April 5 when he parked unattended inside Hillsdale Summit Subdivision, Bgy. San Isidro, Angono.

De Leon reported the incident to Angono Police Station at around 9:35 p.m. on the same date and immediately conducted Oplan Cobweb/Dragnet Operation thru Rizal province and other adjacent municipalities.
