2 top drug targets yield P68-M shabu in Pasay sting
TWO top targets in Metro Manila were arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Manila Police District and yielded 10 kilos of shabu worth P68 million in a buy-bust operation late Friday afternoon in Pasay City.
A report from the PDEA chaired by Director General Isagani R. Nerez identified the arrested ‘high-value individuals’ as one alias ‘Aldrich,’28; and one ‘Rudy,’32, both residents of Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City.
Members of the PDEA National Capital Region and Bangsamoro Administrative Region offices, with the support of the MPD conducted the successful anti-narcotics operation at the north parking area of SM by the Bay located at Seaside Boulevard in Barangay 76, Pasay City at around 3:30 p.m.
Recovered during the sting were 10 plastic packets each containing a kilo of shabu valued at P68 million, the buy-bust money topped by several, and the cellphones and identification cards of the duo.
The motor vehicle they used to transport the drugs was also impounded by the PDEA.
Director General Lazo has ordered the conduct of follow-up operations to identify and arrest the main source of the drugs recovered from the two.
Both suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for sale and possession of prohibited drugs.
