2 subdivisions in Bacoor locked down due to Delta variant

THE local government unit placed two subdivisions in Bacoor City, Cavite on a lockdown after two residents tested positive for the more contagious COVID-19 Delta variant.

Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla said locked down from July 24 to 26 were Addas 2C Subdivision in Bgy. Molino 2 and BF El Grande Subdivision in Bgy. Molino 6.

Some 250 families in Addas 2C and 900 families in El Grande Homes were required to stay in their respective houses while contact tracing were being conducted to locate the second and third degree generations of the Delta variant carriers.

Bacoor LGU provided relief good to the affected residents while the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office conducted disinfection throughout the area to reduce the spread of the virus, including dengue.

No guests, even relatives, were allowed entry in the two subdivisions.

Cavite province has a total of 58,292 COVID-19 cases, with 3,433 active cases, 52,289 recoveries and 1,570 deaths.
