2 ‘shoplifters’ held for P33K stolen items

CABANATUAN CITY – Two suspected female shoplifters were apprehended after being caught stealing several grocery items worth about P33,000 from the SM Savemore Amigo branch in Bgy. Melojavilla here on Saturday night.

Police identified the suspects as Jem Christy Lardizabal, 18, of Mines View, Baguio City and Christine Joyce Ferrer, 18, of La Trinidad, Benguet.

They were apprehended and brought to the city police here by security guard Andrew Reyes, 33, and customer assistance clerk Abigail Sicat, 25, after the suspects were about to leave the store premises at 8:00 p.m.

Allegedly stolen by the suspects were assorted items such as Ensure Milk, chocolates, batteries, and personal home care products, totaling P32,794.50.

City police head Lt. Col. Carl Omar Fiel said theft charges were slapped against the suspects before the city prosecutor’s office here.
