MALABON City police arrested two of the three accused in the alleged gang-rape of 14-year-old student in separate places in Caloocan and Quezon Cities on Saturday evening.

City police chief P/Col. Albert Barot said the two suspects were arrested by joint elements of Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS), Station Intelligence Section (SIS) and Regional Mobile Force Battalion of National Capital Region Police Office (RMFB-NCRPO) led by P/Capt Ronilo Aquino.

WSS chief P/CMSgt. Gilbert Bansil said the first suspect was arrested at around 9 p.m. along Libis, Baesa, Bgy. 160 in Caloocan City while the second suspect was nabbed by operatives of SIS, led by P/Lt. Zoilo Arquillo, at around 9:20 p.m. inside Commonwealth Market in Quezon City where he worked as butcher.

Col. Barot said the accused were arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Malabon Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Rhoda Magdalene Mapili-Osinada of Branch 289 issued on January 12, 2021 for crime of Rape under Article 1766 or the Revised Penal Code.

Based on the records relayed by P/SMSgt. Addrich Reagan De Leon, the incident happened on September 2020, after the first suspect invited the victim, who was her classmate in high school, to join them for his birthday celebration to be held in his residence in Rosita St. Bgy. Santulan.

The victim was forced to come along after learning that most of their classmates were also invited to the party, along with two other accused.

After engaging in a drinking spree, the victim felt dizzy. She was allegedly aware that the three suspects took turns in kissing and caressing her.

The victim tried to struggle but she was too weak to resist until the accused allegedly succeeded in raping her.
