2 nabbed for marijuana sale
POLICE arrested two suspecs allegedly involved in selling dried marijuana leaves in a buy-bust operation Saturday evening in Navotas City.
Navotas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) head P/Capt. Luis Rufo said around 1.070 grams of suspected high grade marijuana leaves with a standard drug price of P128,400 were allegedly seized from Jansen Enriquez, 21, and Sherwin Hernandez, 38, both residents of Barangay North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS).
Investigation conducted by P/Cpl. Ramir Ramirez showed that at around 9:30 p.m, P/SSgt. Joey Ang III and P/SSgt. John Mikhail Garces, both operatives of SDEU, acted as poseur-buyers and successfully bought P500 worth of marijuana from the suspect along Langaray St. Brgy. NBBS.
When the suspects handed to the police poseur-buyers a plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves in exchange for the P500 marked money, operatives of SDEU on standby position immediately collared them.
Capt. Rufo said the seized dried marijuana leaves will be submitted to PNP-NPD Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative analysis while the suspects are at present temporarily placed under the Navotas Police custodial facility pending their presentation to the Office of the City Prosecutor for inquest proceedings.
