2 nabbed for hot guns in QC

QUEZON City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brigadier General Nicolas D Torre III, announced the arrest of two suspects for illegal possession of firearms in two separate operations conducted in Quezon City.

In the first operation, Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) under PLTCol. Mark Janis Ballesteros identified the suspect as Marlou Mariño, 41, resident of Brgy. Balon Bato, Quezon City.

A report shows that PS 3 received information from a concerned citizen regarding a man brandishing and toying with a
gun under a bridge in Brgy. Balon Bato, Quezon City.

At about 10 p.m. of December 10, 2022, PS 3 personnel immediately dispatched and validated the said information. They spotted the suspect sitting in the alley while playing a revolver firearm in front of bystanders and immediately arrested him.

Confiscated from the man’s possession was a caliber .38 revolver with Serial No. 1017216 loaded with two live ammunition.

Meanwhile, Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) under PLt.Col. Jerry Castillo arrested Marco Ferrer, 18, resident of Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City at about 9:05 p.m. of December 10, 2022.

Investigation shows that PS 4 received a telephone call from a concern citizen regarding a man creating trouble along Sarmiento St., near corner Ramirez St., Brgy. Novaliches Proper, Novaliches, Quezon City causing fear and disturbance in his neighborhood.

PS 4 immediately responded and saw the unruly suspectprovoking everyone to a fistfight and threatening them while shouting on top of his voice saying, “Txxxxxx umabas kayo ngayong matatapang, tignan natin! mga gxxx.”

Operatives immediately accosted the suspect and grabbed his gun. However, the suspect resisted causing him and the officer to fell down on the pavement. The suspect was arrested. Recovered from his possession an improvised handgun and one piece unfired caliber .38 ammunition.

The suspects will be charged with violation of R.A. 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act while additional case for Alarms and Scandals and Resistance and Disobedience will be filed against suspect Ferrer.
