2 nabbed for guns, ammo in Batangas towns

TWO men the other day (Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022) were nabbed by authorities during the implementation of search warrants on separate occasions in two towns of Batangas.

Lipa City Station Police Commander Lt. Col Rix S. Villareal said a suspect was arrested at his home in Purok 2, Barangay Dagatan, Lipa City by a search warrant, and police confiscated a black sling bag containing one Colt cal. 45 pistol inserted with magazine loaded with four live ammunition and five plastic sachets of shabu.

The Bauan Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief Maj. Rheden M. Manalo said they arrested a 47-year-old resident of Bgy. Durungao, Bauan for keeping an illegal firearm with ammunition.

The suspect was arrested at 8:45 p.m. in his home for violating Republic Act A 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, issued by Presiding Judge Maria Cecilia I. Austria-Chua of the Regional Trial court (RTC) Branch 2 dated August 15, 2022.

Pat. Christian Aceron Isla recovered one cal. 9mm Viper 2, one magazine, three live ammunition, and two plastic sachets of shabu from the suspect.
