2 held for guns, ammo in Batangas

POLICE the other day reported that two persons were arrested for violation of Republic Act 10591 and the COMELEC Omnibus Election Code (Gun Ban) in Batangas City and Rosario, Batangas.

Rosario Municipal Police Station chief PMAJ Carlo C, Caceres identified the arrested suspect as Rommel Cena, 25, single, baker, and resident of Sitio Guinting Bgy. San Isidro, Rosario.

A telephone call around 8:30 p.m. was received by Rosario MPS from a concerned citizen in the village and informed that he heard several gunshots near the house of a certain Herman Comple in Sitio Guinting, Bgy. San Isidro.

Officer in charge PSSg Jeffrey Carriaga Comia led operatives and patrol personnel in proceeding to the place. They spotted the suspect under the influence of liquor resulting and arrested him.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession was an Armscor caliber .45 pistol with serial number 1191284 with magazine inserted without bullet. Fivd fired cartridge casings were found scattered in the dirt.

Prior to the incident, several complaints against the suspect were received by the police station from this barangay.

In Lipa City, police said they held a man with a handgun who was roaming in Purok 5, Bgy. San Benito at 3:15 p.m.

Lipa City Police Station top cop Lt. Col. Lory M. Tarrazona identified the suspect as Edwin Lalamunan y Balat.

A concerned citizen informed the police about the suspect.

The suspect failed to present legal documents for the said firearm prompting the police officers to arrest him.

Confiscated from the suspect was an Armscor 200TC caliber 38 SPL revolver with serial number 27180 loaded with six pieces of live ammo for the same caliber.
