2 Ecija teens nabbed for P52K stolen relief goods

LICAB, Nueva Ecija – Two 18-year-old suspects were nabbed after they were accused of stealing several relief supplies of coffee, cans of sardines, beef loaf, and macaroni worth over P50,000 at the municipal stock room Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Police head Major Rey Ian Dr. Agliam said the heist was discovered by Girlie Moraleda, 56, municipal admin aide, of Poblacion Norte, and reported it to the authorities after an inventory was conducted at 4:30 p.m.

She told police that she found out that the padlock of the stock room was broken and several boxes of canned goods were missing.

Upon inventory, found missing were ten boxes of San Mig Coffee, 20 boxes of Mega Sardines, four boxes of canned beef loaf, and four packs of Fiesta macaroni, all worth P52,536.48.

Agliam said a follow-up operation led to the arrest of two 18-year-old suspects, one of whom yielded a plastic sachet of marijuana and a box of Mega Sardines.

Charges for robbery and violation of Republic Act 9165 are being readied for filing against the arrested suspects.
