CABANATUAN CITY – Two abrothers wanted for murder were arrested in Navotas City and in Malabon after being on the run for more than four years, police said on Sunday.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon, Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jaime O. Santos identified the arrested siblings as Jonathan and Harold Arcega, both of Bgy. Bacal 3, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

Investigation showed the duo were tagged as the primary suspects in the murder of Bobby G. Valiente in Bgy. Bacal 2, Talavera last July 1, 2017.

Santos said first to fall during police manhunt operations was Jonathan Arcega.

A joint arresting team composed of members of the RIU3-IG, intel/warrant operatives of the Cabanatuan City PNP, the RID3, 304th RMFB3, PIU NEPPO, 1st PMFC Tarlac PPO arrested Jonathan at his hideout in Bgy. San Jose, Navotas City at 7 a.m.

A subsequent operation launched by the arresting unit with the help of the Malabon police led to the arrest of Harold Arcega at his lair in Bgy. Tinajeros, Malabon City at 8:30 p.m.

De Leon said both suspects were listed as number 42 and 43 in the regional most wanted persons of the PRO3 for this year’s third quarter.

He said the siblings’ arrest was carried out by virtue of an arrest warrant for murder issued on November 22, 2017 by Regional Trial Court branch 89 Judge Eleonor Teodora Marbas-Vizcarra, of Baloc, Sto.Domingo with no bail recommended for their temporary liberty.

“The continuous arrest of persons sought by law only goes to show that all police units are doing its best to account all wanted persons in order to rid the society of fugitives and lawless elements in line with the Intensified Cleanliness Policy of Chief PNP, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar,” said De Leon.
