2 drown in Naic River during b-day beach party
NAIC, Cavite – Two individuals were drowned in a river while celebrating their uncle’s birthday, Sunday, March 6, 2022 in Coastal Bay of Barangay Bucana Sasahan here.
The birthday and beach party led to the tragic incident while celebrating their relative’s birthday as the victims drowned in the river’s undercurrent.
PLt. Col. Marlo Solero, local police chief here identified one of the victims as alias “Zyrahlyn”, 16, female, of Amadeo, Cavite, and now confined in the hospital.
The drowned victims are identified as Chelzky Regato, 31, female, of Bgy., 1, Amadeo, Cavite, and Noel Barcial, 18, male, of Salcedo Dos, Noveleta, Cavite wearing black shorts and a fuchsia t-shirt.
According to Investigator-on-case (IOC) PSSgt. Rodrigo Veloso III of Naic Police Office, the family of Chelzky Regato had a family getaway in the said beach in celebration of their relative’s birthday. While having fun, they agreed to go down to the river before going home around 6:00 p.m. and were stranded in the deep part of the river that pulled them down, Barcial tried to rescue the victims but he was not able to get up immediately due to drowning.
Immediately, the Naic MDRRMC ambulance responded for assistance, and police IOC, proceeded to the reported place – upon arrival, the victims were already brought to San Lorenzo Hospital but victims Regato and Barcial were pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Beneath Sucano at about 6:15 pm of the same date.
The remains of Regato is now in their town in Amadeo, while Barcial lies in Alvarez funeral home in San Rafael 2, Noveleta, Cavite.
