The fatalities were identified as Ricardo Solomon, 40, of Orion, Bataan, and Marvin Tatel, 38, of Bgy. Alangan, Limay town.

Tatel died on the spot while Solomon died while being rushed to the DND arsenal infirmary.

The injured were Macreldo Rodriguez, 57, and Allan Wisco, 36, both of Bgy. Lamao.

Solomon and Tatel were killed after a mixture of explosive chemicals they were handling exploded for unknown reason at the Department of National Defense Arsenal in Bgy. Limao, Limay at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

The chemicals were reportedly used in making bullet primers.

Rodriguez was doing reports on his desk while Wisco was checking the hydraulics systems when the incident happened.

Police said an Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit was sent to the crime scene to investigate and clear the area of possible explosive hazards.
