TWO DAVAO del Sur policemen on Sunday were praised by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar for giving their own blood so that a kidney patient will live.

It turned out that Lieutenant Joseph Orbel Pojas and Corporal Paul Agohob saw a Facebook post of one Jhunamagne Terre who was looking for blood donors for his father who was undergoing treatment for kidney failure in a hospital in Digos City in Davao del Sur.

Terre’s father was undergoing dialysis at the MCDC Hospital because of his terminal stage kidney failure.

Upon learning of Terre’s appeal for help on social media, the two police officers did not hesitate to go to Digos City to help and donate blood to the patient.

The Terre family profusely thanked the two policemen for their decision which Gen. Eleazar described as a ‘selfless act.’

“Saludo ako sa ating kapulisan na tumutulong madugtungan ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan. Sana ay marami pang pulis ang gumaya sa ipinakita nitong dalawang pulis mula sa Davao,” he said.

Lt. Pojas is a team leader of the Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay or R-PSB in Barangay Saliducon in Digos City.

A brainchild of Police Regional Office 11 director, Brigadier Gen. Filmore B. Escobal, members of the R-PSB in Southern Mindanao have earned praises and commendations for their Good Samaritan Acts, helping people in distress, teaching young children how to read and write or paving the way for the construction of artesian projects, roads, school buildings and classrooms and clean toilets for poor residents living in so-called Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas in the region.
