DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite — An alleged high ranking member of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) was arrested by the AFP and PNP in Greenwood Heights Subdivision, Brgy. Paliparan 1, Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

The arrested suspect was identified as Evangeline Rapanut also known on alias Chat/Ines. She was served with arrest warrants for alleged murder and frustrated murder in Cagayan Valley.

Randy Belen Tamayo alias Deng, suspected communication staff of the National Education Department of the CPP-NPA-NDF, was also arrested during the operation.

MGen. Laurence E. Mina congratulated the government forces for the successful neutralization of high-ranking CPP members. “The apprehension of Evangeline Rapanut and Randy Tamayo will lead to the exposure of the CTG’s nationwide extortion operations, infiltration into the different sectors of society, the conduct of terroristic activities, and their international and local political works, particularly their use of front organizations. Their arrest will further weaken the CTG which is now on the verge of collapse due to the successive government operations that resulted in the neutralization and apprehension of its Party leadership.”
