Authorities are still on the hunt for two persons deprived of liberty (DPL) who escaped the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City shortly after midnight last January 17.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Sunday that it has already coordinated with the local police, and even with the Philippine Coast Guard, for the immediate arrest of Chris Ablas and Drakilou Falcon.

Ablas was convicted for robbery with homicide and sentenced to reclusion perpetua without parole.

On the other hand, Falcon was convicted for robbery with homicide and with a pending double murder Case before the Camiling, Tarlac regional trial court.

The Bureau of Corrections said Ablas and Falcon are both armed and dangerous.

Their fellow escapees Arwin V. Bio and Pacificico V. Adlawan have been killed when they reportedly fought it out with authorities during manhunt operations.

The NBP Maximum Security compound is now under lockdown while the manhunt for Ablas and Falcon is still underway.

Investigation showed the grand escape transpired at 1:20 a.m. on January 17, 2022.

The escapees allegedly traded shots with guards on duty before they managed to get away towards the NBP Reservation Area in Sitio Magdaong.

Three prison guards and one PDL were injured during the escape. The PDL, who was soon to be discharged from prison, succumbed to his injuries.
