A Philippine Airlines flight from Beijing, China arrived on Thursday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 2 carrying some one million doses of Sinovac vaccines.

The shipment of China-made Sinovac vaccines was purchased by the Department of Health and landed at the NAIA around 7 p.m., said PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna.

The One Stop Shop of the Bureau of Customs at the NAIA processed and cleared for release the one million doses after representatives from the DOH and the Food and Drug Administration presented advance documents and will be transported immediately to PharmaServ Express cold storage in Marikina City.

Meanwhile, Malacañang announced on Thursday that an important milestone was reached with 10 million Filipinos now vaccinated against COVID-19.

Based on data presented by the National Task Force Against COVID-19 headed by vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, the number of fully-vaccinated Filipinos stood at 10.28 million as of Wednesday.

The milestone was achieved a day after the Philippines recorded its highest daily vaccination rate with 702,013 COVID-19 jab doses administered, according to NTF deputy chief implementer Vince Dizon.

With the IATF expecting the arrival of around 16 million COVID-19 vaccines this month, the government expects the daily vaccination rate to increase further, particularly in other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, PharmaServ Express, the Department of Health’s national cold-chain facility partner, was set to deliver COVID-19 doses to various local government units in Laguna and Batangas provinces.

Pfizer and Moderna doses will be delivered to Binan, San Pedro will receive Sinovac and Moderna doses while Sta. Rosa will be given Sinovac doses. Laguna province, for its part, will receive Sinovac and Moderna.

Sinovac and Moderna will also be delivered to Batangas province while Batangas City was set to receive Sinovac, Pfizer and Moderna.

Other Batangas LGUs expected to get fresh supply of Sinovac and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are Lipa City, Sto. Tomas, and Tanauan City. Cabuyao, Calamba and San Pablo will receive deliveries of Sinovac, Pfizer and Moderna jabs from PharmaServ Express.
