CABANATUAN CITY – The Nueva Ecija police’s intensified anti-illegal drug operations led to the separate arrest of two “high-value” individuals (HVIs) and a minor, along with the seizure of 210 grams of shabu valued at P1,428,000.

The arrest of the three suspects stemmed from separate drug busts conducted by the Zaragoza and Sta. Rosa police Stations on Thursday, said Nueva Ecija top cop Col. Ferdinand D. Germino.

In Zaragosa, nabbed during a drug sting conducted at 8:50 p.m. were a 22-year-old male van driver, and his cohort – a 32-year-old female caregiver – both of Bgy. Concepcion West.

Seized from the duo were 12 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 110 grams, worth P748,000.

In Sta. Rosa, arrested was a 14-year-old boy, a resident of Bgy. 188, Caloocan City, who was apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted in Bgy. Rizal at 1:30 p.m..

Sta. Rosa police head Maj. Rommel C. Nabong said purchased from the suspect was one plastic ice bag containing white crystalline substance or shabu weighing 100 grams worth P680,000.

Also recovered from him were a marked money worth P1,000, a bundle of boodle money used in the buy-bust operation, and the suspect’s mobile phone.

The arrested minor was immediately turned over to the custody of the Sta. Rosa Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for proper disposition.

Nueva Ecija police director Col. Ferdinand D. Germino said the young suspect will face charges for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, while a separate criminal case is being prepared against the alleged owner of the illegal drugs.

“This significant amount of shabu seized in this operation represents countless lives saved from addiction and its devastating effects. Those involved in the trafficking of illegal drugs will face the law, as their actions harm others and carry severe consequences,” said Germino.
