13 nabbed for illegal fishing in Cavite
MARAGONDON, Cavite – Members of the Philippine Coast Guard – Cavite on Wednesday arrested 15 persons for illegal fishing in the waters of this municipality and inTernate town.
The arrested individuals were on three motor bancas.
Ten persons riding “Fbca Dexwin Ace” motorized boat was held for conducting illegal fishing in the waters of Carabao Island and El Fraile, Maragondon, Cavite.
The activity was in violation of Section 4.3 of the Maragondon Municipal Ordinance 78-08 also known as ‘’ Pangingisdang Komersiyal Sa Katubigang Pang-Munisipal Na Hindi Rehistrado sa Munisipyo.”
The PCG team also confiscated the fishing banca and brought to CGSS Maragondon for further investigation and filling of appropriate charges.
Meanwhile, local PCG personnel conducted hot pursuit operation on two motorized boats allegedly conducting blast fishing two nautical miles northwest of Puerto Azul waters in Ternate town.
Five fishermen were arrested while two motor boats, Princess Rhiana and Rayven, were seized.
