Macaraeg said the operation stemmed from the information received by the District Intelligence Unit (DID) regarding the involvement of the suspects in credit card fraud which prompted them to seek a search warrant from the court.

When the operation was conducted by joint operatives of District Special Operations Unit, DID, Special Weapons and Tactics Team and District Mobile Force Battalion, they caught the suspects while in the act of engaging in online gambling.

Police seized from the suspects laptop computers, cellular phones, dongles and point of sale machine.

The arrested foreign nationals were presented for inquest proceedings before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violating Republic Act 8484 (Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998) as amended by RA 11449.
